About Habitat & 2023-2024 project
Habitat for Humanity Northumberland is a non-profit organization founded in 1998. In 2023, we celebrated our 25th anniversary and have served 65 families during this time through our homeownership program. We have also helped over 175 families maintain their affordable housing through our home repairs suite.
Our mission is to work towards a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Habitat for Humanity brings communities together to help families build strength, stability, and independence through affordable housing
Maintained an avid volunteer program both on the build sites and in the ReStore, with an average of 6,000 hours donated per year. All the proceeds from our social enterprise retailer, the ReStore goes towards our build program. To learn more about Habitat for Humanity Northumberland, visit our website.
building hope with families campaign
The idea for this project is a result of Habitat Northumberland's desire to have a greater impact in the community. Being able to provide more opportunities for affordable housing for local families is at the forefront of this development.
With a multi-unit project comes a larger than normal budget. This is the first time that Habitat Northumberland has embarked on a capital campaign to ensure that the costs of the project are covered.
And the Building Hope with Families campaign was born.
It truly takes a village to raise the funds needed, and a campaign cabinet was created.
Steering the ship are co-chairs Jacqueline Pennington and Greg Campbell who are working alongside the cabinet to raise the $400,000 to kick-start the project.
